Treatment Process
Consultation - FREE!
A chance to experience Neurofeedback first hand and discuss symptoms and concerns.
Identify potential treatment and training options.
Pre-Assessment
A Pre-measurement based on a "symptom rating scale." Each item is then quantified by frequency, duration, and intensity.
Dual Purpose
1.Provide a quantitative measurement as a baseline to track progress.
2. Identify areas of need to develop treatment plan.
10 session treatment blocks
At each 10 session block, the Pre-assessment is reviewed to identify progress and areas of continued need.
Post-Assessment
Near the end of each 10 session block, another "symptom rating scale" is completed to provide a quantified measurement of overall progress.
Approach
Customized
Everyone is unique! In completing the extensive assessment, a treatment plan is developed based on the individual's needs. There are several treatment options, which are explored to identify the best fit.
Comprehensive
Recognizing that all parts (emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual) are interrelated. In some cases, these areas require additional support. Building a team of expert professionals in areas of psychiatry, health and wellness, nutrition, etc. may be an essential part in attaining one's full healing potential. The treatment plan is expanded to meet all areas of need. Neurofeedback is a good addition to any health and wellness plan. collaboration with other providers is welcomed.
Trauma Informed
Neurological Stress (trauma) comes in all shapes and sizes. This can include the daily grind of a busy schedule to severe emotional and physical trauma, such as physical injury, abuse, and other life threatening events. Stress causes a variety of symptoms: fatigue, uncontrolled anger and emotions, confusion and memory loss, depression, and anxiety. Neurofeedback addresses this stress directly, reducing symptoms by improving the brain's capacity to stay in balance.
Attachment trauma
Is a specific neurological stress linked to the care and nurturing a child received from a parent or caregiver. Research in early childhood brain development has provided substantial evidence towards recognizing the immense impact attachment has on the development of the central nervous system. Attachment "breaks" or stress, such as abuse, absent care, instability, etc. during this critical time of development can leave long lasting effects throughout a child's development and into adulthood.
Addressing the attachment trauma in both children and adults can be achieved by combining Neurofeedback and a specific therapeutic process of "re-parenting." This approach is a method of identifying what stages of development experienced "breaks" and using therapeutic techniques to replace and fill those gaps.
Cognitive Behavioral Based Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a therapeutic approach that recognizes how emotions, thoughts, and behaviors are all influenced by each other. This goal-oriented treatment takes a hands-on, practical approach to identify and change ineffective thought and behavior patterns. The CBT process is very effective when combined with Neurofeedback. Addressing neurological "stuckness" while supporting individuals to identify areas of strength and supporting them develop more balanced and functional thought patterns enables them to move forward.
Person Centered and Empowering
-Non-judgmental, Unconditional positive regard
-The individual knows what he or she needs and can guide treatment
-Exploring and maximizing personal strengths
-Recognizing and encouraging efforts in the change process
Child and Parent Support
Understanding that a child's Neurological state (stress) is often at the root of unwanted behaviors and other conditions is an essential component to treating children. Combining Neurofeedback with Parental Support is ideal when addressing a child's brain development. providing parents with the understanding and tools to encourage behavior changes and overall success is also crucial.
